Decomposition - rain-flow of resolved shear variable

In: Load history decomposition

If the loading is non-proportional, the direction of the shear stress/strain during the time t changes. To derive the load cycles, the shear stress/strain history C(t) is projected to specific direction m on the plane examined. The resolved shear stress/strain history T(t) can be fragmented into separate cycles.

Each resolved shear stress/strain cycle is related to a sequence of normal stress/strain history, so that they could be evaluated simultaneously. It depends on the method using this type of the decomposition, how the normal stress/strain history attached to the shear stress/strain cycles is processed.

Any method using this type of a decomposition requires to fill in the parameter Number of scanned directions on each plane in theCalculation Methods menu. The number of directions should relate to a half-circle only, since the load states on the other half of the circle are the same. The option Optimize <1~yes, 0~no> affects also this parameter.
